RHOBH Friendship Fractures
Once considered inseparable on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley have spent the past several seasons navigating a highly public unraveling of their longtime friendship.
The first visible cracks emerged during season 13, when Dorit questioned whether Kyle was deprioritizing their relationship amid new friendships. Tensions escalated in January 2024 after Kyle publicly disputed Dorit’s characterization of their closeness during an Amazon Live appearance, minimizing how often they had vacationed together with husbands Mauricio Umansky and PK Kemsley.
Dorit later reflected on the strain while attending the People’s Choice Awards in February 2024, saying, “When you’re close, it’s inevitable that you have some highs and some lows.”
Dorit joined RHOBH in 2016 during season 7 through Lisa Vanderpump, quickly forming a tight bond with Kyle. That relationship was tested repeatedly over the years, from shifting loyalties during the arrival of Teddi Mellencamp to the fallout of season 9’s “Puppygate,” when Kyle’s support of Dorit contributed to Vanderpump’s exit.
While the women periodically reconciled—including shared vacations and Kyle’s support following Dorit’s 2021 armed robbery—new fractures formed in seasons 12 through 14. Family tensions involving Kyle’s sister Kathy Hilton, Kyle’s growing friendship with Morgan Wade, and disagreements over private text messages all deepened the divide.
By late 2025, Kyle confirmed she and Erika Jayne were no longer speaking with Dorit following a heated cast trip during season 15. Though brief moments of calm appeared on camera, unresolved trust issues continued to resurface.
Their fractured bond now stands as one of RHOBH’s most enduring storylines—a reflection of how friendships forged under reality television, shaped by producers like Alex Baskin and rooted in the franchise created by Scott Dunlop, can be both deeply real and relentlessly tested.
