Baby Stops Breathing
Sadie Robertson is opening up about a frightening medical emergency involving her infant daughter, Kit, revealing that the child briefly stopped breathing after choking at home earlier this week.
The 28-year-old Duck Dynasty alum shared the update with followers on Instagram on Saturday, April 11, explaining her recent absence from social media and the emotional toll of the incident. Robertson described the experience as both traumatic and faith-affirming, noting she has been focused on recovery alongside her family.
According to Robertson, the incident unfolded while Kit was seated in her high chair eating a snack as dinner preparations were underway. Within moments, the situation escalated. Robertson’s mother, Korie Robertson, quickly intervened, placing the baby in her arms just as Kit stopped breathing.
Family members immediately sprang into action. Emergency services were contacted while Robertson began performing CPR — skills she had previously studied but never expected to use in real life. The reality star later reflected on how instinct and preparation converged in the moment, crediting both her prior knowledge and her faith for guiding her response.
“After following protocol for a baby choking and doing CPR, Kit miraculously coughed and began to breathe, just as the paramedics arrived… it was truly terrifying, but God,” Robertson shared, describing the turning point in the ordeal.
Paramedics transported Kit to a nearby hospital, with Robertson accompanying her in the ambulance while her husband, Christian Huff, followed behind. The couple — who married in 2019 — share three daughters: Honey James, Haven Belle, and newborn Kit, who was born in August 2025.
After an overnight stay for observation, Kit was discharged in good health. Robertson reported that her daughter quickly regained her usual cheerful demeanor, even charming hospital staff within hours of arrival.
The influencer and WHOA, That’s Good podcast host — raised in the spotlight alongside her father, Willie Robertson — has long spoken about how motherhood reshaped her priorities, aligning her platform around faith and family, similar to figures like Candace Cameron Bure.
In March, Robertson also shared that she and Christian Huff are not in a rush to have another child, choosing instead to focus on their current stage of family life as they recover from the recent ordeal.
