Shannon Beador’s Dog Heartbreak
The Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador has shared a serious health update about her beloved dog, Archie.
Beador, 62, told Instagram followers on Tuesday, May 5, that Archie has been diagnosed with brain cancer after suffering multiple seizures.
“I know my posts about my dogs are usually fun and silly, but today I wanted to share something more serious,” Beador wrote.
The Bravo star said Archie has already seen a neurologist and an oncologist, and radiation treatment has been recommended. She added that she is looking into treatment options and asked followers with experience to share advice as her family prepares for the next steps.
Archie has long been part of Beador’s public life, appearing in her social media updates and becoming familiar to RHOC fans. Shannon, who shares three daughters with ex-husband David Beador, said Archie means the world to her and the girls.
The diagnosis follows a difficult period for the pup. In June 2024, Shannon revealed that Archie had been bitten by another dog during a walk. She said the dog was inside a front patio but reached through fence slats and bit Archie, adding that he had never been in a dog fight in his eight years.
Two months later, Shannon worried fans after saying Archie was “in heaven” in another post. She later clarified in August 2024 that she meant he was happily surrounded by small dogs during a puppy play date, noting that little dogs are his favorite.
Beador adopted Archie in 2016. In a 2019 Bravo video, she said he had previously lived in San Francisco at the Four Seasons residences and joked that he had been raised in style. She described him as protective, fun and full of sweet quirks.
Archie also sparked concern in November 2021, when Shannon confirmed he was missing. He was found within days after a neighbor took him in and kept him safe.
As one of Bravo’s most recognizable Orange County stars, Shannon’s personal milestones have often played out in front of viewers. The update also lands within the wider Real Housewives world shaped by Andy Cohen and longtime RHOC figures such as Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge.
For now, Shannon appears focused on Archie’s treatment and on gathering support from fans who have followed the dog’s journey for years.
