Arpa Garay is the Chief Marketing Officer for Merck’s Human Health business. She is responsible for long-term portfolio strategy and global marketing for the company’s in-line and pipeline human health medicines and vaccines, which includes global market access & pricing strategy; data & analytics; digital marketing; and commercial business development.
Arpa joined Merck in 2006 and has broad enterprise experience with increasing responsibility across oncology, vaccines, specialty and chronic care. Her career reflects success in consistently driving business growth in U.S. and international P&L roles, insight to drive M&A decisions and longer-term strategic choices, innovation to reflect an evolving global healthcare environment, and leadership to build and inspire diverse, talented teams.
Arpa started her career as a management consultant at Monitor Group (now Monitor Deloitte), gaining diverse experience across industries and business challenges.
Education and personal life
Arpa holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she focused on medicine, public health and public policy. Born in India, she has lived in five countries and visited 70, and loves to travel with her husband and three children every chance she gets.
