Wearing a baseball cap, a striped windbreaker, and carrying a red backpack, Nick appeared intent on avoiding attention, glancing repeatedly over his shoulder as he waited to buy a drink. Authorities later confirmed that Rob, 78, and Michele, 68, were discovered dead inside their Brentwood home on December 14, each suffering apparent stab wounds. According to reports, the couple’s daughter Romy arrived at the property after a gate malfunction disrupted a scheduled appointment, leading to the grim discovery. Emergency responders subsequently informed her that her mother had also died. While Nick lived on the property, police records indicate Romy did not initially name him as a suspect. Nick was arrested the following day near a metro station close to the University of Southern California. Prosecutors formally charged him on December 16 with two counts of first-degree murder, a case that could carry a sentence of life in prison without parole or the death penalty.
