Louis van Amstel is a Dutch ballroom dance champion, professional dancer, and choreographer who appears on the American reality television series Dancing with the Stars.
Before joining DWTS in its inaugural season in 2005, he was already an established name in the competitive dance circuit, winning titles across Europe and representing the Netherlands in world championships. On Dancing With the Stars, he partnered with a range of celebrity contestants — including Kelly Osbourne, Priscilla Presley, and Niecy Nash — earning praise for his creative routines and emotional storytelling.
Beyond the show, van Amstel founded LaBlast, a dance-based fitness program that combines ballroom technique with cardio training, helping to make dance accessible to all skill levels. He has also worked as a choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance and various stage productions.
Throughout his career, van Amstel has been an advocate for self-expression, inclusivity, and body positivity through dance, using his platform to inspire others to find confidence and joy in movement.
