History
WilliamsMarston LLC was founded in Boston in January 2014 by two former Big Four professionals who believed that middle-market companies, their investors and lenders were underserved in the accounting advisory firm space. Initially working out of coffee shops and restaurants, the firm quickly landed projects helping a biotechnology company and a software company to prepare for their initial public offerings.
In May 2014, WilliamsMarston hired its first full-time employee and moved into a modest office. In 2016, the firm opened its New York office and appointed a New York market leader. As the firm grew, its service offerings expanded to include mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, private equity services, interim management and restructuring. In November 2020, WilliamsMarston acquired a well-known and respected boutique corporate tax firm adding significant expertise in income tax accounting to its service capabilities. In August 2021, WilliamsMarston completed the acquisition of Chord Advisors, a firm of more than 30 professionals, including many former Big Four national office and former FASB staff members, with specialized expertise in IPO readiness, Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPAC) and complex technical accounting advisory.
