Requirements for applicants
Master’s Degree in Social Work, required.
LCSW certification, required. Eligibility for ACSW upon hire, which must be attained within one (1) year of employment.
Minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible related work experience to ensure familiarity with social work program administration.
Duties
Plans and oversees the administrative functioning of the department. Assists in developing policies and procedures, monitors budget and publicizes program both internally and externally. May provide social work services to clients, as necessary.
1. Responsible for smooth functioning of program and for making necessary changes in order to meet patient needs.
2. Assists in development of policy and procedures for the program. Seeks administrative support for program changes and expansion.
3. Supervises performance and professional development of staff. Assigns work, develops and communicates expected productivity levels of all staff.
4. Prepares and monitors program budget to ensure cost containment and effective patient care. Acts as liaison between funding sources to maintain/ enhance funding.
5. Develops and implements appropriate mechanisms to collect third party fees such as Medicaid and private insurance reimbursements.
6. Provides social work services to program clients. Responsible for referrals, intake, crisis intervention, treatment planning and discharge planning in accordance with professional, departmental and hospital practices. Travel to patients’ homes, community resources, community meetings may be required.
7. Publicizes program and acts as representative to internal and external services, community meetings may be required.
8. Performs related duties, as required.
