Requirements for applicants
A new venture of the D. E. Shaw group (“DESCO”) seeks talented and highly motivated individuals to join its Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) program as part of our DESCOvery initiative. DESCOvery aims at building new, non-asset management businesses for the firm.
Who we’re looking for
- Candidates should possess meaningful domain knowledge in the KYC space, particularly within the financial services sector, along with a proven ability to generate, research, and lead ventures with minimal oversight.
- Creative idea-generators with excellent critical thinking, analytical, execution, and communication skills will excel in the program and are highly sought after.
- Excellent team-building and teamwork abilities are required.
- Experience in an operating role within fintech or at a fast-growing tech organization is highly preferred.
Duties
This individual will focus on “KYC” efforts, including refining existing processes and pioneering innovations within the financial services industry.
Participants will join the program as full-time employees for approximately six months. During that time, they’ll be part of a distinct entity and will be responsible for proposing, researching, and preparing a plan to further new business ideas. Promising ideas will move to the execution stage and will be backed by the firm; the EIR will be expected to play a lead role in executing those ideas.
